Default broke hose connected to throttle body not sure what its called

Hi I accidently broke a plastic hose that connects to the throttle body. It snapped in half when I moved it. The hose connects to the throttle body just below a wire connection (idle air control?). Does anyone know what the plastic hose does? Does it just carry air or does it carry fuel? Wondering if i can just tape it together if its just for air?

The hose that wraps around the air box and all the way up to the intake manifold? That's for crankcase ventilation.
