How would you know if you never had one on your neon . May sound like that to you but to everyone that has it on there neon loves it . I know more people that have a srt on there non turbo neon then I know of people complaining its to loud . I love it beats the ricers around here.
Mainly because I have modded a few neons and did an srt-4 exhuast on an 02 and it sounded better with just the header on. The kid liked it, but to me it sounded like a honda fart can on crack. To each his own though.

It also lowers your back presure and you lose HP instead of gaining it.

Try searching the forum, there have been many people that have dynoed before and after the swap and on a stock motor with no mods or minimal mods it has been DYNO PROVEN to lose HP. A free flowing engine is a good thing, but without some mods to make use of that free flow, the bigger exhuast will not flow well and you will not fully empty the cylinders of exhuast gas hence less air/fuel mixture that can enter the combustion chamber resulting is a HP loss.

I agree with u Casper and y2neones. Yeah; u will loose power. When people think they gained hp, majority of that is in their heads.
I also don't like the sound of the SRT-4 exhaust on the Neon. The SRT exhaust was designed to be used with a turbo and the turbo quiets the exhaust system. On top of that the SRT has a 2.4L engine vs a 2.0L; which makes the SRT sound better. I've also seen it on this forum. We aren't going by word of mouth.
I would go with an exhaust designed for your car.
