I have a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT with 150K miles. I recently had the struts, tie rods and control arms replaced. I aslo replaced both engine mounts about 30K miles ago and just repalced the bottom one again. I am having a problem, my car is making a loud noise when I accelerate. I thought it may be a wheel bearing but today I realized it does it when completely stopped **BUT ONLY WHEN THE GEAR IS IN DRIVE** The noise stops when I put the car in *neutral* or park. The noise gets alot louder when I go from idle to acceleration. Its hard to describe the problem it almost sounds like a bad strut would sound but obviously is not the case. I checked the Transmission fluid and its full. I tried to have someone put the car in drive while parked and try to pin point the sound but its harder to hear when outside of the vehicle. Thanks in advance. Jon.
PS-Dodge cars have been reliable cars so far. I didnt have any major problems with my neon until now and recently purchased a 09 Journey for a family vehicle

I guess its possible. Im pretty sure its coming from the front somewhere though.
I made a mistake in my post earlier and corrected it. The noise continues when car is stopped but in the drive gear and continues louder upon hitting the gas. The noise will stop though if Im stopped and I put the car in Neutral.
