My daughters car stays in gear even when it is in neutral. It drives fine but will not back up, the two work against each other. Does anyone no if there is a home fix or does it need to go into the shop. Thanks

 

I had something like that happen when my torque converter got stuck. What happens when you put it in neutral and reverse exactly?

 

The car will still go forward when in neutral as well as right before you put it in park. When you put it in reverse it will not move at all, I thought that maybe the two were working against each other because the oil is starting to look like it is getting hot. Thanks for your help
