Default 05 sxt auto overheating

ok so this just happend. I was driving from ohio to florida and i hit about 250 to 350 miles and my car over heated. well it blew all my coolant out of the resevoir. well i thought it was the thermostat so i changed it when i got to my dads in georgia. I was on the way to my moms and once i hit the 150 175 mark it over heated again....what the heck could it be? i thought about my driver side fan bc it hasnt worked in over 7 months just didnt change it b/c car never overheated till now. could this be the problem? or what else can it be?

If the problem is the Fan not working, then u over heat when u sit at idle, but will not over heat when moving. Turning Heat on full blast also help cooling it down if problem is thermostat or Rad fan.

It could be a failed waterpump, or blown head gasket. Assume u have no coolant leak.

Ok so my stupid car overheated again...no idea why. It didn't get to redline though. Neither did it do a coolant dump. But when I loosened my radiator cap it released the pressure and back filled the resevoir. Does that mean the new cap is bad?

no it does not, the rad cap suppose to hold some pressure.
do you have heat? does it help on the overheating issue if you turn the Heat to full blast?
here is another thing you can do. With the car running at Normal-Hot temp, feel the temperature at the Upper radiator hose, and then feel the temp at lower radiator hose, compare it. The lower radiator hose suppose to be A LOT cooler.
does your car ever overheat when driving on Highway speed?

it is possible that ur radiator is clog.

no i flushed the radiator thats what i thought it was. But i went and had it tested today and it is a blown headgasket. so i went and bought the hg set and some of the things i have no idea what they are for. now for the valve seals is it gonna be hard to replace them since i have the head out? and should i go ahead and replace them?
