Default 03 Neon Trouble!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love my Neon, but once one thing goes bad - something else seemingly worse follows! It has 128K miles on it, and in the last 2 years has had replaced lower control arm bushings, struts and shocks, wiring and plugs, timing belt, idler tension pulley, belts twice because of squealing, new battey, starter, water pump besides all regular maintenance stuff, tires, alignment, etc.
The past 2 months we have replaced both tie rods (driver side twice), upper and lower torque struts, only to have to replace both motor and transmission mounts.
We were driving it in between the times it was tore down to do the repairs, and I noticed squealing again on startup which usually quit after a minute or so, - but the battery light started coming on and staying on for a couple minutes. The lights would dim some, but then be okay.
So when they finished the right side motor mount and did the 119mm adjustment on the upper torque strut yesterday and put everything back together again - the car won't start!!!!! Belts are snug but it seems like it isn't turning over - more like just a starter noise, but yet they said it's cranking......Can someone please help. Could it now be an alternator/generator problem?

Starter makes noise, but doesn't crank engine? If so, The bendix on the end of the starter is stuck. You need to pull it, have it bench tested, and probably replace it. Also, check for a good ground, jump between the starter body, and the neg terminal on the battery, and see if that helps. Could also try jumping the car with a running vehicle- may be a bad battery/alternator-and the battery doesn't have enough oomph left to kick the starter drive.
