Dreaded P0700 and P0888 Codes came up after grounding

Default Dreaded P0700 and P0888 Codes came up after grounding

My husband changed the camshaft position sensor and in doing that grounded out the car. The ground was found and fixed - the car started - but then began throwing the P0700 code and P0888 code. Does anyone have a diagram of where the TCM is sitting on a 2005 Dodge Neon 2.0L SXT??

As well as what are the first steps you would take to diagnosis this issue before automatically jumping to a Solenoid issue? Such as check TCM ground, Change TCM relay in fuse box, then input/output speed sensors, etc.

The TCM is integrated into the PCM.
The shop manual says P0888 (Relay Output Always Off) is an intermittent code that is caused by wiring or connector problems.

Name of code: P0888(15) - Relay Output Always Off

When monitored
: Continuously

Set condition
: This code is set when less than 3 volts are present at the Transmission Control Relay Output (switched battery) terminals at the PCM, when the PCM is energizing the relay.

Theory of operation: The transmission control relay is used to supply power to the solenoid pack when the transmission is in normal operating mode. When the relay is off, no power is supplied to the solenoid pack and the transmission is in Limp-in mode. The relay output is fed back to the PCM. It is referred to as the Transmission Control Relay Output circuit or switched battery.
After a controller reset (ignition key turned to the run position or after cranking engine), the controller energizes the relay. Prior to this the PCM verifies that the contacts are open by checking for no voltage at the switched battery terminals. After the relay is energized, the PCM monitors the terminals to verify that the voltage is greater than 3 volts.

Transmission Effect
s
: The MIL illuminates and the transmission system defaults to Limp-in mode.

Possible causes
:
  • Relay failure (intermittent relay function caused by oxidized or contaminated relay contacts)
  • Short to ground or open circuit in the Transmission
  • Control Relay circuit(s)
  • PCM connector problem
  • PCM

Possibilities of grounding frying PCM??

Location of the ground on the PCM??

Output sensor area is clean, input sensor area is TOTALLY grimed over - would using engine cleaner and spraying this area off be an okay thing to do since it is open underneath to elements anyway?

I suppose there is a possibility depending what exactly happened.

There are three, according to the ground distribution diagram. A black/white wire and two black/tan wires.

They make electrical cleaner specifically for sensors/contacts. I believe it's simply called contact cleaner.
