P3044 basketcase cam\crank relearn?
I have an '04 neon with 2.0 SOHC that I am trying to get going for a friend. Here's the story: The timing belt broke on her and she decided to take it to someone she knew to have it fixed. about a month later she finally picked up the car and brought it to me. From what I gather, he just installed a used engine. After I hooked up some things and fixed some stripped threads I started it up. What I got was code p0344. I know that he had been chasing a problem that he couldn't figure out and I found out that he had replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor and cam sensor magnet. I cleared the code and the code still shows up after just a few seconds. I checked the belt timing and it was 2 teeth off. I installed a new belt and corrected the timing and it still has the code. I swapped the sensors back, no change. I also noticed that there was another rocker arm assembly in the trunk.
My main question is, does it need a forced crank\cam relearn because it is a different engine?
I also checked the reference voltage at the connector and it was ok, the ground seemed ok also. I have not gone as far as tracing the output back to the PCM. Any other ideas?
Thanks for any help you can give me. BTW, this site is awesome!

Big bump.. but where is the magnet located? o.O;
I'd like to buy the sensors now and get them out of the way.. and it looks like the camshaft sensor is the easiest one (easiest access). But apparently the sensor is separate from the magnet as well..
Edit: Ok after another hour or so of research I found out where the magnet is. Looks like I'm going to have to hit up ACE hardware for a new tool to remove that magnet/target.
