Exclamation A/C Problem :-/

When I originally bought my Neon last year, I bought it fully knowing that the A/C didn't work. On an invoice the previous owner gave to me, it was noted by a mechanic that there was a "small" hole in the high pressure hose/line. It's been literally a year since I've seen the invoice.

A few weeks ago I checked the fuses and noticed the 10 amp fuse for the A/C was busted, so I changed the fuse and hoped for the best. Nothing. However, for the next two weeks, I would hear a "hissing" after I shifted into the next gear. At first, I thought it was my upgraded CAI but the noise has stopped. I was thinking that maybe the little refrigerant that was in the system was being released by the compressor kicking in.

I heard the noise regardless of if the A/C or air was on, and I usually just left it off and went 260 style. What steps can I take to diagnose the A/C system? It's not the blower motor, as air definitely comes out of the vents, and it's not the fuse anymore.

Advice?

Default Ac is never "easy"

The hiss is unrelated (based upon your statement), so disregard this !! First you need to "seal" the system. will require a min of 20psi on low side and approx 150psi on high side just to "lite" up the compressor. get it charged first. !! Be advised though.. neon has a harness that runs along bottom of rad support that is easily damaged if "curb surfing" the lower nose. This is the harness for triple tree press sensor !! Lots runs the a/c so no simple "fix" here.. Vacuum first! if holds, Charge, retest!

Take it to a shop it is . A/C is not my forte. Intake, exhaust, and internal engine. That's my area of amateur-ise. :P
