Mine does the same thing as the OP and I put it in neutral for a second and back to drive and it goes up to normal RPM. Is there an idle adjustment screw on our TB? If so, I'll try it and see if it does anything. I just changed my plugs/wires 2 months ago and they look good.

There is, however make sure you mark exactly where the factory spot is so you can get it back if you need to. I messed with mine along with drilling a hole in the throttle plate and it was easier just to replace the TB than try and get it back to stock (mainly the adjustment screw; I could have just filled the hole).

Don't go to far from factory either, I'm sure any big changes will make the computer unhappy.

I'm planning on cleaning out my IAC sometime this weekend and seeing if that does anything. If I get around to it and it helps I'll let everyone know.

I had that issue as well a long time ago, eventually narrowed it down to vacuum leaks, not sure what part had pin hole cracks but that stopped it as I replaced them & the throttle body shock-boot, can't think of anything I haven't replaced on it now days.

knock on wood so it don't interrupt party boating weekends

In case anyone is reading this for a solution.....I changed my plugs AND wires and car runs great now. I would recommend doing so if you are experiencing similar issues.

I have a 05 sxt atx , just changed spark plugs , spark plug wires , new airfilter , thoroughly cleaned throttle body and idle air control valve , new pcv valve and still have this issue. I notice when i have the a/c on the engine does not drop rpms. Does any one have an actual fix for this. I tried rasing the set screw on the throttle body for where the throttle sits un engaged but any adjustment threw my idle way to high so i bottomed it back down. Please help.
