I just bought a 2000 Neon from the auction, and I'd like to know what it's recommended that I check/replace before I put this thing on the road. It's a standard 5 speed, that's reportedly been lady-driven.

 

I would do a regular tune-up. Plugs, wires, air filter, oil change, change the trans oil, can of dry gas, some injector cleaner, coolant. Check the brakes, tires, ac, basically just take a real good look at the whole car.

 

I agree with casper 100% just get a typical tune up and you should be fine. that should work out any little kinks that may be lurking around.
