Default 2 q's 1 about springs and the other about breaks

My 2001 neon rides pretty high and i was thinking about lowering springs for my car. I have read that some suggest not doing so unless you change the front struts... If I plan to get some springs, should I change any thing else? I also have breaking issue. One day I was pulling out of the parking lot and my car made a loud pop sound and (in gear) I couldnt go forward! I put the car in park and turned it off, walked around the car and seen nothing. I got back in the car turned it on and drove away without any issues. Das later I am hearing a grinding noise when i press the breaks It sounds the like its coming from the rear right side Help!

Sounds like something broke in the drum. I'd check it out because if the wheel cylinder gets messed up, there goes your brakes.

...until you change all of the struts. A rear brake inspection is also in order.

I recently had the braking issue fixed. Part of the issue was the wheel cylinders!

You want your '01 lower? Mine rides plenty low as it is. I would opt for a body kit before I went with lowering the car.
Something along these lines, but not as "in your face" as the graphics package on this one.
I would not want the wing either. A car that looks like it's speeding while sitting still will draw more attention from police than a more moderate appearing car.
Just my $0.02.

To buy that plus have it painted will exceed the amount I want to spend. If I remember I'll measure the space between the wheel well and tire, to me its a lot more then your average car.
