Default 03 neon airconditionion question

ok so my trusty neon has some issues 1. i know its needing a head gasket, but the car doesnt seem to over heat yet and im planning on taking care of that in another week. ive been driving with the heat on high for a while just to help with the enginine temp and headgasket issue car is not over heating. however today i got to work and after i pulled in i switched the selector for defrost to just blowing out the middle vents usually there is a pretty good flow however today it was minimal i could hear the fan though still running on high??? and there was a little air coming out the vents that was hot. so i shut off the car and opened the hood, ive found that releasing a little bit of the pressure off the radiator after the driving seems to help at start up when i dont do it its a little rough running where im assuming coolant is leaking past the gasket and causing the rough start. anyway today i noticed that the ac unit and lines were all frosty white even though it wasnt being used and im wondering what would cause that and if that would have an impact on why the heat was blowing out of the vents, wasnt blowing out of any of them could something have frozen up causing this??? the ac wasnt even on at the time is it possible to just say disconnect the ac via the fuse if it is the cause?

the a/c just runs randomly, one of dodges lil nick nacks to keep freon & a/c oil circulated.. a good thing I'm sure to avoid leaks down the road

The A/C runs in defrost mode in most vehicles in an attempt to remove moisture from the air being blown onto your windshield.

sounds similar to what mine does sometimes... though mine has been when using the AC on HOT summer days, after 30-45 min of driving, can hear blower still blowing strong, but negligible volume of air coming from vents....
