alright so i can pass state inspection i need to put my stock brake light assembly back on. they way i removed it last time was to remove the nuts and then yank the assembly off. but when i do this with the clear assembly it feels like its about to snap? am i removing the assembly right or am i missing a step somewhere?

The stock one just pops out, take a close look at it and see what its hanging on.

 

i looked at it and i cant tell. the left side comes off with no trouble at all but for some reason the right side wont come off.
