2001 Dodge Neon Error Codes
P0601 and P1684
I understand what the codes mean, I just dont understand how I came upon getting them. I was at work last night, went to the store for lunch, and the Check engine light was on. I haven't removed the battery cables within the last 50 starts (p1684) and the cars running fine. P0601 is kind of scaring me since my car runs like it has since i bought it, i realize a PCM can go bad at any time, but my question is do I really need to replace the PCM if the car is running well? Also, what could happen if I don't replace the PCM.
Worst case scenario, I do have to replace the PCM, can I just ****** one from a junk yard and install it myself?
2001 Dodge Neon SE
161k miles, still running strong.
Regular maintenance.
