Default A couple problems

Well, I got my 2000 Dodge Neon other day, I love it, or I would if it drove solid.
As I was bringing it home, one of the shift linkage bushings snapped, and fell out on the shifter side, I threw a pair of vise grips on to hold the linkage in place, and drove home.
After that, when driving, it "Sputters" kind of in the low rpms?
Also there is some popping that seems to come from the rear end when, you guessed it, in low rpms.
Also, when running through 1-4th gear, there seems to be something dragging (on and off) on the ground. when I look under the car, I see some braided steel threads (Idk what they are for real) on the exhaust pipe, towards the front end. (I believe it is the exhaust, haven't bothered following it all the way back, honestly.)
My CEL has also been on ever since I got it.
I was on another forum, and I seen the key dance, so I tried it, it threw three codes, as followed.
Battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.
Misfire on cylinder #1 (I believe this is an issue with the plugs or wires, correct?)
Power steering switch failure (knew it had no power steering so that was nbd)
If you would like a picture of the braided steel threads I mentioned, I will try to post one for you guys.

sorry for the long post, and any mistakes made in spelling. Posting this from a cell phone.

Thanks for any advice you can throw my way.
