Default Stereo install

Hello Neon owners. This weekend I was asked to install an aftermarket stereo in my friends 01 neon.I don't own a Neon and I have never been in her car so I don't know how to remove the bezel. Are there any hidden screws I should know about? Also, do you need a mounting kit or any kind of antenna adaptor? If some one could make the install easier I would much appreciate it. If anyone has installed one let me know what you did. Thanks in advance.

there are 2 screws in the vents, carefully remove the vents with a flat blade screw driver or by hand gently as they come loose from the center closest to each other. and the bezel comes right off but do it gently as these older cars plastic is getting brittle now days. after that it's a cakewalk

There is no antenna adapter that I know of. I have an aftermarket on mine and it used the standard antenna connector, and a dodge wire harness. Just make sure you get the wires taped off, as it's really easy to short a wire in a Neon, having such little space in the dash.

Thank you for help on the bezel removal. As for the antenna, I can use the connector that is in the OEM radio? Also, did you need a mounting kit or did the aftermarket fit right in?

I had to get an antenna adapter for mine. I also had to use a mounting kit.

I also got an aftermarket connector but I'm lazy like that
