Post Question...

Just as the title states I have a question.

I have an 01 Dodge Neon. I'm pretty sure the front right wheel bearing is going out. When I make left hand turns it makes a squeak squeak squeak sound until I complete my turn. Am I wrong in thinking that it is the wheel bearing? If it is the bearing do I need a press to do the repairs?

Squeaking is usually a worn/bad bushing of sorts.

A bushing? Hmmm... That isn't what my buddy says. He's pretty sure that it is the bearing. That and squeak squeak squeak is probably a poor choice of words to describe what it is I'm actually hearing. To be 100% sure I'd have to let my papa Dixon look/listen to it. He's been working on cars nearly his whole life.

A bad bearing would squeak/make noise ALL the time. Not just while turning.

^^^ This, but if it is while turning, is it like a clicking perhaps instead of a squeak? That'd be a bad CV joint...
What else would squeak up there...brakes? Tie rod ends?

Regardless, it's one thing to have someone try and put a noise into words and diagnose something over the internet based on said description versus being one of your friends who can hear it in person We can only be so precise online in guessing fixes for "weird noises."

I've see those cheasy stock wheel covers squeak when turning corners, mine did that and I just ground off the area where the side wall flexd rubbing the hubcap/wheel cover hence the upgrade to 65 series tire from 55's
