well, the reason I recommended the dealer is because you have a cluster of different problems. I thought spending a hundred dollar to figure out EVERYTHING you need at once might be worth saving the headache. and you don't have to use the dealership to fix the problem.

if it is not a tire issue, it is possible you got a bad axle. or Maybe your wheel isn't sitted right. what exactly did you removed to replace the ball joint? maybe there is something you didn't put together right. try remove brake rotors and clean the hub to rotor surface, I've had cars Vibrate due to a Rust spot between the Rotor and the Hub bearing because someone just removed the rotor to do some work.

regarding a scanner, you can get a generic one for roughly $100, enough to do the job, and works on all make and model. The Data isn't exactly complicated, it just tells you what temperature your coolant is at, what RPM is the engine, what's the Intake Manifold Pressure, etc... But if you are not familiar with it, it will run you in circle as Kyle mentioned. But once you learn how to use it, it is the best tool for the money on cars nowaday. And it carries on to your next car.

other than pulling the spark plug, here is one more thing to try in order to verify cylinder flooding.
Hold the Throttle ALL THE WAY to the floor, and crank the engine for few second. Don't worry, this is clear flood mode, engine will NOT start.
after that, try and start the vehicle. See if it would start right da way.

Thank you steak, where could I find a scanner? I'm all in for learning new things and I'm not sure about the ball joint deal, I took it to a garage because he did it for roughly the same price as me buying the ball joint and renting the press and it saved me the trouble so I let him do it.

Also I was looking at the autozone online repair guide and from what I can see you can change the fuel filter but they don't sell it, am I wrong or are they wrong?

generic scanner wise, the best one I've used for it's price is
Amazon Amazon
there are many out there. you'll find one that might save u like twenty dollars, but... this one is the best I've used so far.

I believe Fuel filter is inside the fuel pump. And it is not serviceble. And it isn't necessary to replace it either. If you want to check fuel pressure, Autozone loans out Fuel pressure gauge.

regarding repair info. Thanks to the internet, it is easy to come by. even if you can't find it in Autozone, you can just ask in forums like this one. One of us will be happy to help you.

if you really want to tackle the vibration concern, you can jack up both front wheel, lay them on a Jack Stand, have an asistant drive it to 50 MPG in the air. Try look around for the source of the Vibration. See if the Axle is rocking up and down, and see if the wheel is sitting crooked.

If vibration is vehicle speed related, there has to something that rotates with the wheel.

I am gettitn the same bumping and clanking out of mine I beleive it is coming from the rearens specificially the right rear wear a walmart tire genius made some "adjustement" acouple of years ago.

As for the vibrations a friend of mine that used to do tires told me once to check the tires and see if there was any one with a ounce and half weight on it and if so take it to a tire shop and have them break down the tire and rotate it 180 degrees and then try balance it again.
