I put my 2004 Neon in the shop to have some work done. When I got it back it had no reverse. The shop has closed since then and I am stuck pushing my car backwards. I have been told by several people that they probably disconnected the linkage in the top of the trany and forgot to put it back. I don't know where that would be or what it looks like. I live in a small town and the local auto store seems to never have my Chilton. Can anybody help? Thank you.

 

Is it a manual or automatic? I would assume take the center console out, and make sure that the shifter's bolts are all tight as they will go. I had the same issue when I replaced my shifter. It wasn't tightened all the way. I had all forward gears, but no reverse.

 

Automatic. I'll check that out today.
