Hi everyone, im new in the forum and want to give a congratulations for the forum, im already read some topics and was very instructional. but i have a question, in the past days, my car dies, so i went to the mechanic, and solve a problem with the alternator, so that was easy, my problem is that for i dont know what reason my speedometer dies, and in some moments start to jump, and when the speedometer dies, i cant pass the 2k rpm, and the car start to pull, every gear shift well, but i cant go any further than 2k rpm, hope someone have the answer

 

what you might try is disconnecting your speed sensor (VSS) and see if that quells your 2k rpm issue. if it's related directly to your speedometer dying, that's where i would start. you may have a little short in your sensor, causing an issue somewhere.

if it runs fine with the sensor disconnected, probably just need to replace that sensor.
