Default engine problems

i just got a 2000 dodge neon 2.0 sohc put a timing belt and water pump. and when i accelerate between 1000, and 2300 rpm it lugs like its working to hard then. in 5th getting on it at like 70 the check engine light comes. any help would be awsome

No its not and and last night the check engine light stayed on

just put the scan tool on it and it says cylinder #2 misfire

make sure cylinder #2 is getting spark. also, if you're unsure of the age of the spark plugs, it never hurts to replace them as a precaution, especially since they're relatively inexpensive and easy to get to. last thing to check is the coil

The plugs are new and so are the wires

Just put e3 plugs in and it runs like a champ
