Default 2005 SXT valve/head question

I have a 2005 SXT that I'm pretty sure has bent valves. I just want to double check before I tackle this tomorrow. I have to take the cylinder head off in order to replace the valves? What about the timing cover? Will I have to take off that side of the engine in order to get the head loose?

Thanks!

to get to the valves and replace them (dont forget to replace valve stem seals while you're in there, if they're at all worn and could use replacement...typical indication is car smokes on startup, then goes away) you will have to remove the head.

to do so, you will need to remove the timing cover, undo the timing belt, remove the exhaust manifold, and remove the intake manifold. from there, it is the obvious task of removing the valve cover and undoing the head bolts to actually remove the head from the block.

Gotcha. Thanks. I have a whole new gasket kit to put on, including new stem seals. Any point in replacing the springs, etc while I'm in there?

Probably not. I assume an 05 probably has under 150k on it, so you can check the spring specs, I believe with a micrometer, but they're probably fine in all likelihood.
