Default 2000 Dodge Neon Won't Start

A couple nights ago, some kids broke into my Neon and in an attempt to steal the Neon, broke my steering column. Mind you, previously, the Neon ran great. I had to purchase a steering column, which I replaced and connected properly. Here is where the problem lies: the neon, will not start. When the battery is connected, the odometer shines (without the key in). When the key is engaged, the engine will not crank (no clicking, no sound at all), however, the fan and AC work, the radio does not work, the headlights work, but the blinkers do not. What is going on? Please help, this is driving me insane! Any clues are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Did you use your ignition from your column? Make sure the neutral safety switch is hooked up. Did they cut any wires? Check fuses?

Replacement column came with new ignition. No wires were cut and all fuses were checked and are ok.

Is there a red circle light that won't go out in the dashboard?
