Ok so i saw a 02 neon in the area for sale thats gonna need a transmission. from what ive read its a 41te . i was wondering if the 4-spd auto from my 98 plymouth breeze expresso is the same trans and possibly a direct swap. let me know what you think

 

oww we just scrapped a 4 speed that worked great. They are a dime a dozen. I doubt the stratus trans work in a neon, I have never heard of this. Specially not a 96-99 into a 2nd gen. We don't stock stratus trannys so I don't have one to compare it to. What is wrong with the trans in it, have you considered diagnosing the trans and fixing the unit?

 

Well i did some research and what i saw did in fact say the 98 breeze expresso has the same 41te tranny as the 02 neon. i dont know whats wrong with the trans in the neon havent gone to look at the car for sale yet. the trans in the breeze works fine just the motor is bad so I'm trying to pickup the "broken" neon for cheap and do the swap myself if they match up

 

I checked the interchange list at work and according to that they were different. It will work in a caravan. But the list could be wrong...

 

Its the same transmission on the inside IIRC, but the mounts are different, and the TCM for the older models wont jive with the PCM's from the 00+ Neons.
