Default headlights dont work help?

I have a 2004 dodge neon that I just got today went to drive after dark and my headlights don't work at all the running lights turn on but no high beams or low beams, the high beam indicator on the dash turns on when I click the switch, also the dome light doesn't work, are these related? How do I get my lights to work is it the switch?

I think you might have fried the multifunction switch connector(also check the multifunction switch for melted plastic at the connection). The connector seems to be too weak to handle the amps from the headlight system of our cars.

Are you using high wattage bulbs? If yes, remove them ASAP.

I replaced my connector today after I lost both my low beams and fog lights. The connector(Grey) fell apart when I tried to pull it. Luckily it was an easy swap, just takes some time as there are 17 wires to replace.

Try your local Junkyard and pull one from a 2000-2005 Neon. I read that other Chrysler cars share the same part, but after trying 1 Sebring and 3 different Caravans I think not. They all had upgraded "beefier" cables and connectors.
I got mine for free. Your cables are most likely fine and can be used with the "new" connector.

By the way, I'm adding a relay to my low beams today, for peace of mind. I'll do the same for the fog lights before the winter.
