Tranny fluid level

Tranny fluid level

I have checked the tranny fluid as described in the manual for an 05 neon sxt,automatic. It shows the same level on stick in park as it does in neutral. How should I go about checking the fluid level.

Engine running, TRANS OPERATING TEMP, in park or neutral is fine.. I like park so my car doesn't roll away

You could leave it in neutral and apply the parking brake, or just put it in park.

when tranny is warm and car is running the fluid should be between the 3rd and 4th dot.
