Changed oil..better sounding engine
I just changed my oil ( 5w 30) Mobile Super conventinal and wix filter..the oil was at wal mart for $14.. cant beat that. I noticed my engine sounds a lil better... not so much noise. the other oil still was brown and coulda lasted another 600 miles or more.

Oil changes are overrated, todays oils are extremely good and our Neon motors are bullitproof as long as they have oil in them and a new timing belt, even Wal Marts cheap oil has done the trick for years. If you want oil that will make a difference in reliability and bearing cushion run 10w-30 or 10w-40 unless you have a new Hemi with MDS then stick with 5-30.

I'll be honest with ya man, oil can go over 10,000 miles. My Neon has 253,000 miles on it and I take it to 7,000 Rpm all the time, and last year I was too broke to afford an oil change and went 23,000 before I changed the oil. Was it the smartest thing to do? maybe not but 40,000 miles later she still hauls *** and has no less than 165psi on all cylinders.

Fact: oil degrades over time and can create sludge and carbon buildup. You are removing the sludge and carbon buildup when you change your oil, preventing the sludge from gumming up your crankshaft and keeping it running smooth. Certain factors that contribute to carbon buldup are air filter cleanliness, type of gas used, weight of oil, pcv system efficiency, etc. If you use a good filter and (preferably) synthetic oil, you might have to change it once every 7,000 miles.
While letting it go 20,000 miles+ isn't going to seize your motor, it certainly isn't good for it.

Wal-Mart oil is actually pretty good. Can't remember who it is made by, but the synthetic oil does fairly well based on UOAs. The regular SuperTech oil works too. I've been running it in my Neon for some time now with 0 issues. A Corolla in the family has run SuperTech Full Syn it's entire life (100-something thousand miles now) and it's chugging along just like it did when it was new. A UOA is the only way you can really tell what's going on...or a VOA if you want to know what the oil is made up of before you use it.
