Default 2001 dodge neon

The timing belt broke on my 2001 dodge neon, had it replaced, now the 2 center vlaves are not working. The car runs great when driving, no noises, no hesitation, but when it is in park and running it idles really bed. I have had people tell me that is the vlaves are damaged that it should be making a lot of noise, also have been told that if 2 valves side by side are gone that the car shouldn't run. Would the vavles not work if the timing is off?

Best thing to do is a compression check. It's easy to do and it will tell you a lot. It would be rare for the timing belt to break and not bend some valves.
