Default Need advice

Here's the situation- My best friend of 17 years is a complete moron(She's a sorority girl). I love her but she's dumb as a sack of rocks. About a month ago she came over to my house & we were going to go somewhere. I went inside to get my purse & she opened my passenger door to start moving some stuff to the back so she could get in. All of a sudden I hear frantic screaming & I run outside to see my car wedged up against HER car with the door bent backwards. She says the car just started rolling for no reason. The car was off, the parking brake was ON, and there's no reason it should have rolled like that. I figured out that since she's stupid & knows nothing about standards, she probably released the brake to make room for her big butt or something. I think this b/c when I came out, the brake was not pulled up high enough to engage. I always pull it up as far as it'll go. I have caught her in plenty of lies before so I'm 99% sure this is what really happened.

Anywho- my question is- what do you think this will this cost to fix? I have not had a chance to take it in yet b/c I'm so damn busy, and I'm dreading the estimate b/c the door is completely ruined. It still opens & shuts, but it makes a horrible creaking noise & it's unfixable & must be replaced. I'll have to buy a whole new door. One of my friends suggested I go to a junkyard & find a neon & take the door off of it & just get it painted to match. What should I do(besides kill my friend for doing that & then LYING about it)?

I'd make her pay for it and let her worry about the price.

Take it to a bodyshop and find out. It will probably be a lot of money. It cost me about 800 to get a window replaced and 3 dents taken out of my door. Luckily insurance covered almost all of that since it wasn't my fault. But I would say you're probably looking at a good 1000 worth of damage.

Sorry to here that man. Id take it to a body shop first and see what the damage is. My friends girl did sumthing simmilar and opened the door while backing upa nd a poll next to the car bent the hole door. So its probley gunna run you around 800 $ or so. I got lambo doors so i have no need to worry bout that but good luck with it and you not killin your girl....

For starters fellas....Ac1d8urn's a woman.....and here's my .02

Sounds like your friend got busted big time in a huge a$$ lie.....I'd be talkin with her and askin her to fork out some cash.....

As for your car.....I'd seriously look into the whole junkyard bit.....as it may save you some cash.... go around and get free estimates...and ask the body shop guys....often they are willing to tell you how to cut corners....I know a few so its easy to learn what they would do if the insurance wont cover it....

One last thing......get your E-Brake checked just in case to make sure its working properly and nice and tight.....worst case scenario is she didnt lie and you feel like a horse's a$$....
