I spy with my little eye some sort of hose unplugged above that torque strut...

I would call a mechanic buddy (if you know any) and have them look at the car so you can get a comprehensive list of what needs to be fixed. It's hard to tell from those pictures what all needs to be replaced.

Ah that little hose is just the windshield washer fluid input to the hood which I had to remove. I think we have determined everything we need. It actually doesn't look to be that hard of a job. The harder part will be deciding if I should put a condenser back in for AC, or just get a smaller belt and remove the AC compressor motor.

That looks just like my sisters car- need to get at least the radiator/fan shroud, air box, intake manifold, and maybe a seperate tranny cooler instead. Looking foward to seeing what happens with yours

what did you end up getting for 220?

I got:

One head light assembly
radiator
shroud
air box
power steering pump
intake manifold
hood

So I got it all back together. Car seems like it runs well but we took it for a quick spin around the block and it was overheating pretty bad. Got it back into the garage and felt around. The top rad hose was pretty hot, and same with the black piece that runs over top the rad but the rad itself was still dead cold. I am not sure if this is a plugged rad or if there is ALOT of air stuck in it or a black thermostat.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be good before I go and find another rad.

Cheers

If the upper radiator hose is hot, the thermostat did open to let coolant flowed through. It may not have fully opened though.

The radiator should be warm/hot to touch.

Water pump was done back in july with the timing belt. I'm sure it's not the water pump. No other symptoms though, the hose didnt collapse it looked like, no steam or bubbling out of the res or the thermostat. No oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil.

But yea, I have a feeling nothing got into the radiator, or at least that far into it. The very top of the rad was hot (where that black plastic part goes across), but I couldn't find a warm spot anywhere on the front of the rad where I could touch with my hand.

Fan went on no problem at about 1/3 engine temp as expected which is good.

I can get a new OE rad for 125 but thats my worst case scenario. I think what I will do tonight is pull off the bottom hose and see if any fluid made it into the rad at all. If it didn't I'm going to expect a very very clogged rad... unless someone has any other ideas?

I don't know if the condenser has to do anything with it, because you already removed it from your car.
The condenser is usually in front of the radiator blocking some of the air went through the front grill.
With out the condenser, and now is Winter, the radiator maybe cooled off too quick? The bad thermostat may not open/close quick enough?

You need a thermostat with the same specs by the way.
Not all thermostats open/close at the same temperature.
