Default Nubie ?

Son's friend has 03 Neon SXT auto w ~46k miles. Car stalled on them while driving around 50 miles an hour and has not restarted since, cranks but wont start. She reports no CEL or other issues leading up to this. Pulled codes P0016, P0344, P0456, P0562, and P0700- idk if codes are old or not. Did some reading on this site and removed inspection plug from from the timing belt cover, I can see belt on cam sprocket but it does not move when car is cranked over. Thinking broken belt... any experience out there? Kids do not have a lot of money and I'm trying to help them out.

Is this a rebuilt engine? The mileage is very low on this car.

First. You should find out if the timing belt is broken or not.

You are going to have to recharge the battery if you keep cranking the engine.

I would look in the How to section of this forum page. Dartthoush has 2 video links on how to remove and replace timing belt. from what you described, I would think it's broken.

If the belt broke, it is likely the pistons and valves met which is why it won't start up now. If that is the case, the head will need to be removed and any bent valves replaced, along with the other work associated with R&Ring a head.
