Default 2005 Dodge Neon Engine Issues

Hello,

I have a 2005 Dodge Neon with over 100K miles on it. It has been performing well, but I have two issues with it that really have me stumped. When I put new gas in the car, the start-up of the car becomes difficult and the idle is inconsistent and rather rough. This happens for 2-3 minutes and then when I go to restart the car, the problem goes away. This only happens whenever I put new gas into the car. I am stationed in Germany and usually put an octane level of 90 in the car, so I am guessing its not the fuel. What do you think it is?

Also, my check engine light comes on. I do not notice any noise coming from the engine or feel any vibrations. I have verified that the gas cap is properly secured as well. I still have the original O2 sensors on the car. What do you think my issue is? Is it related to the issue above? Thank you in advance!

My suggestion is when the engine light comes on, pull the codes. It'll narrow the problem down.
