Default "Cruise Shift Points"

I was reading into my manual today, and it has a cruising shift schedule. It states to shift into 2nd at 12MPH(which I sometimes do), into 3rd at 18MPH, into 4th at 25, and into 5th at 32.

I went around the block shifting like that, and I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. I guess it would be a good way to save gas.

Can anyone verify that this is what their manual says, and can anyone confirm or deny that no damage to the transmission will result of this?

Yes, that's what the manual says. I don't see why it would damage anything to shift at lower RPMs. Might hurt your fuel economy depending where you live, but other than that, you are just driving like a grandma

Just don't lug the engine.

Too low engine RPM is hard on the bearings.
