HORRIBLE vibration...shaking..HELP!
God I hope someone can help with this!! I have a 2002 dodge neon SE and a few months ago it started vibrating alot, at idle sitting at stoplights and in gear, driving down the road.
We found out a month ago when changing my battery out that the top right motor mount was broken...completely swung off and away from where it should have been.
So, we changed it....no better. so we got the next motor mount (longer one beloe top one) and again, no fix for vibration. so..........last wekend we got #3 the one on the transmission side, and of course NO FIX! now we learned there are 4 of these buggers and are planning to replace #4...once I find a book on HOW to get to it.
but now my check engine light is one. I just had it in to the dealer (cost me $100!) to have the update the software for emissions etc.
so...anyone heard of similar problems? its driving me nuts...it shakes so bad, it actually hit a Base-tone when i drive down the raod and gives me a headache!
please help! email me lleigh1974@***.net if you have any ideas????

ok i had a problem like yours,i changed spark plugs, wires and coil box. still vibrated. went to dealer they found a bent valve and a scoured cylinder. needed a valve job and a new short block. luckly it was still under warranty. 3000 dollars worth of parts for 200 dollar deductable. not bad but the engine should have lasted much longer than that. find some one to do a compresion check. hope its somthing simple. or your still under warranty.
Did they actually tell you that the PCM update was for emissions? Federal Law (USA, anyways) requires all emissions updates/fixes to be free for the first 8 years, and that would include a catalytic converter if it went bad, and all labor.
They didn't even say what the CEL was for? Has it come back?
