Problem with an airbag
Hello and greetings from Finland!
I got an "Interrogate left SIACM" -code on my 2004 Chrysler Neon LX in Europe. The airbag light goes on and off, sometimes it stays off for a month and sometimes it stays on for a month straight. Anybody dealt with these kind of issues?
Is it possible to check the left SIACM with a DRB III or do you need a specific airbag tool for that?
I asked the local dealership but they aren't giving me any answers since it's an electric issue and they want me to bring the car over for a car electrician to check which costs 150+ USD an hour and the check would take about two hours.
A new left SIACM would cost 150USD and it seems to be a very easy job to install. Should I just order one of those and try if it solves the problem?
The car has otherwise worked like a charm. I bought it new and now it has about 80k miles on it. It has been the best winter car I've ever owned, and winter means constant -5 Fahrenheit. It has started every single time with no pre-heating or anything, and it heats up very quickly. Surely I've had it serviced every year or every 9k miles to keep it in good condition.
Thank you for your help with this one!
