Default engine/battery light

so about a week ago my engine light came on in my 2000 ES, i checked all the fluids and put more water in the battery, and then it turned off. then a couple days later, the engine light is back on, but this time the battery light will come on and off at different times. so just yesterday i bought a new battery and had it installed. only problem is the check engine light is still continuously on and the battery light continues to come on and off. any help as to wut the problem might be would b great...

I'd get the alternator checked out. That could be a problem.

whats that goin to help if cranking amps are normal under a load?? nothing ...could be your battery sensor not getting a valid read. B/C if it were causing problems as such it would have gone out a long time ago. And the voltage regulator is basically the ecu since neon alternators dont have voltage regulator.....if its holding a charge it isnt the alternator so if its cranking the amps out normal when tested then its ok.

Chill all knowing neon god....I was throwing ideas his way. I had a similar problem with a different car like his and that was a problem. So when why don't you step down off your platform of thinking you know everything and just try and help people troubleshoot instead of making snive remarks.

didnt mean to sound like that...sorry if it made you feel that way. A lot of your comments come awry when you think something is BS w/ out quite researching it or even trying to make sense of a theory. The person had inquired and I tried to throw in my .02 not to ridicule your post. All we all try to do is help other people ......save the bashing for the honda forums. And trust me Im no all knowing neon god...far from it if there is to be anybody you should be listening to its Slowass neon or RadarLove. But slowass sticks to neonspeed.com now.
