Mulitple Car Issues
Hello, I've had my 03 Dodge Neon SXT for about 6 Years Now and I've run into so many problems I've gotten around to try and sell it, but sure enough my car started to break down right when I was thinking of Selling it.
I've had an EVAP Purge Flow Problem since Last Year, currently the Only Code Im getting from the Car is P0452.
Transmission went out 2 Weeks Ago, got it fixed (Supposedly by Uncle who owns shop) but on Thursday I was driving My Car when I herd a weird noise from my engine (After I listened closely it sounded like water boiling) the hood started shaking, I looked off to the passenger side and noticed smoke coming from the engine, I immediately parked in a lot, I turned the car off and popped the hood open.
I saw Engine Coolant leaking from the plastic area in which it's held. It was a pinkish milky substance. After I got it home another relative suggested filling some of the engine coolant back, immediatly it began to gush out of the side. After he opened an area where there was more pink milky substance, he rubbed in between his fingers to show me that it was the pinkish milky substance with what seemed like oil.
I'm sorry if this is unclear, but I was wondering if anyone knew what it was. My dad is bugging me to fix the car in order to sell it, and im trying to tell him, that there are too many issues and wont sell well. I even called Pick-N-Pull in order to see how much they'd pay me for the car, they said they'd give me $350...

You could have an easy fix or one that toasted the transmission. Is it an automatic? I ask because if it is the transmission fluid is routed to the radiator to cool it. The fluid is a red/pink color. If your seeing some pink/red fluid coming out of a large plastic area in the front of the car (Radiator) it has to be that. It could be leaking just the transmission fluid, or it could have mixed with the coolant which is bad. You would need the transmission flushed ASAP. Then you would have to replace the radiator, $100 at Advance. You also have two rubber hoses connecting the radiator to the transmission, big one on top and a small one hidden at the bottom that could be leaking. There are two small rubber hoses connecting the transmission to the radiator. If you look at the air box (big plastic box at the right of the engine bay) and look down underneath it you should be able to see them. These are prone to leaking transmission fluid, if your uncle removed them to fix the transmission and did not replace them i bet they are leaking. Without more information, or pictures its hard to narrow it down. This is just what I'm thinking off the top of my head.

The first pic could be as you said a crack in the plastic container. Easy enough to fix, after market containers are about $20. Make sure your just not over filling it...I did that. I was wondering why large amounts of coolant kept coming out when i tried to top it off. Was a bit dumb of me.
The second and third picture may be showing you that the coolant system is mixing with the transmission fluid because you said its a pinkish milky color. That would mean the inner workings of the radiator, at the bottom where the transmission lines attach is cracked and leaking. That also means coolant is going into the transmission...that is not good, it could be why your transmission needed fixing. But If it was your relative should have seen there was coolant in your transmission when it was drained.
Another possibility is that you have a head gasket leak, cracked head or block. That would allow oil to seep into the coolant system. I know some of the coolant in the neon's is a red color, so maybe its mixing with the black oil to turn it pink. If that is the case you have to pull the head and have a machinist inspect the block and re plane it to install a new head gasket.

i had the same thing happen on my 96 caravan your supposed to replace the radiator when you replace the trans at least that's what the mechanic told me because when i pulled out the trans the fluid was normal put new trans in and end up the "strawberry milkshake " of trans death and had to replace the trans again and the radiator so that it didn't happen again
The part that breaks that causes the milkshake is in/on the radiator, is why you should replace it. Just replacing the transmission will allow the problem to immediately occur again.
