Crazy ASS NEON!!!
Ok here is the deal. I know I post alot, but I have one question that really should have been answered first.
I have a 2004 sxt neon (AUTO!!!) in electric blue. I bought it brand new (which I regret not just buying an srt-4), anyway,
when I first got it, it would do this crazy shifting thing which at the time all my friends thought was funny. I would
punch it all the way to the floor right. It goes up the the rpm's to like 64-6500(redline) which its suppose to do. THEN it would shift but it would take awhile before it engaged to it would still keep going up in drive to 7,000 rpms and then it droped hard into second gear. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr(6,500rpm's) ...........pause...........(7,000) dddrrrrrrrr Weirdist thing I ever saw. I thought hey its new and the cpu is ajusting. Sorry its so long but you have to know the entire story to HELP ME!!!
THE PROBLEM: ITS NOT DOING THAT ANYMORE, but the problem is now it will only go up to 6,100 rpm and does a smooth shift even though that sucks in a race. SO why not drop it in first in the auto pos. IT STILL ****ING (sorry for lang.) shifts at 6,100rpm's without me changing from 1 to 3 in auto pos.
ANSWER IF YOU COULD WITH #'s EX. 1)
Questions
1) ANYONE else out there that bought a new 04 neon that does that?
*THE FIX? 2) I think that if I reset the cpu it could possibly fix the shifting problem or the 1st pos in auto problem. The least it could do would be to fix the auto 1st from shifting before I physically shift it, even though it still would shift sooner in Drive b/c the trany is probably broke by now (9,000 miles), like I said before which is why its shifting lower in the rpm's. SO THE QUESTION IS WHETHER RESETING The CPU will fix that?
3) LAST Q/A is if the reset might work how in gods name do you reset the cpu on the neons? I'm thinking it may just be pull the fuse out and put it back in to reset it but which fuse if that is the case?
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY ANSWERS TO THIS CRAZY PROBLEM AND SIMPATIZE WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM AND ONCE AGAIN APPOLIGIZE FOR THE LONG POST BUT I CAN'T LOSE TO A F-ING HONDA B/C OF THIS ONE LITTLE THING!!!
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
