Question 2003 Neon SXT Help Please

Two years ago my wife's Neon started having transmission issues. A leak was found where coolant had gotten in to the transmission. It was flushed but last year the transmission needed to be rebuilt.

Last night she came home from work and said she thought transmission issues were coming back. She said when she would try to accelerate from a stop the car would be pretty sluggish. I took it out for a drive and things seemed to normal to me.

I checked the CEL codes and have P0441 which I've had an intermittent EVAP CEL for quite some time so the engine light is on sometimes and off sometimes. I also have P0522 which is the oil pressure sensor that needs to be replaced.

Could the oil pressure sensor cause sluggish acceleration? I don't know if the oil pressure light was on at the time all I know is when I drove it around it wasn't on.

What about the battery? I don't know the last time the battery was changed, in fact we've had the car since 2005 and I doubt it has been changed. Could the battery be going bad? Would this even cause sluggish acceleration? After I got back I talked to her and she said she had the A/C going but I drove around without it on.

What do you think is going on? I really hate to think its another transmission problem since we just had it rebuilt last year.

Spark plugs should be changed every 30K miles and wires every 60K. Might start with some new plugs and see where that gets you. The ones in there are probably done.
