car smokes when put in gear

Default car smokes when put in gear

when i put my car in gear (it's a manual)after it idle's at a light smoke comes out the exhaust, but while im driving nothing. i changed the valve cover gasket what else could b the problem??

By "nothing" you mean you don't put any load on the engine? You just push in the clutch, put it in gear, and keep the clutch in?

If so, it might be your rear main seal. Perhaps when the clutch is pressed in, it's putting pressure on the seal and somehow oil is leaking into the cylinder. That's jut my guess anyway.

How often do you check your oil?

every week! and naw when i put it in gear let go of the the clutch press the gas and a lil cloud come's out. again only when it idles when im driving i smell nothing at all!! im thinking head gasket seal wonder how much that's gonna cost

That could be anything. If it were your head gasket you would know it. It might be worn piston rings, rear main seal, anything. I'm sure it's not the head gasket.
