Default Replacement for Foam make up filter?

The original owner of My Neon (my Older Brother), when he put the CAI on, cut up the factory air filter box to run the tubing through it, for more of a "stealthy" look. aka, when you pop the hood, it more or less looks stock.

i have the rest of the factory intake bits boxed up, but if i would want to switch back i would need a new filter housing.

last week, i went to a pick-n-pull for some other bits, and the first neon i passed had the box 99% disconnected, so i disconnected everything, and bought it for $20.
the make up filter in the junkyard part, pretty much disintegrated the second i touched it.

is that a certain type of foam i would look for? hack off a peice of a kitchen sponge? looking for a direct fit, not something i wold need to further modify to make work.

any suggestions appreciated.

Well, the "filter" isn't much more than a piece of foam. It's more for soaking up the liquid (oil) that gets in the PCV system.

They sell the make-up filter at parts stores. It's about $3 or $4.
