Default 01 neon front end shaking

I have an 01 neon and right around 60 mph the front end begins to shake and vibrate pretty bad, causing the steering wheel to shake very bad. I when I bought the car I replaced the struts and wheel bearing and just yesterday I replaced the outter tie rod ends and also the ball joints. The car got a little better but it still shakes pretty bad. What else can this be?

Need to get a front end alignment after replacing tie rods and ends. I recently replaced them as well and after the alignment, the car drove 100 times better!

have the front re-balanced and ask them to check for a bent rim that way you can narrow down the shake @ speeds

I had a bent steel rim slightly but no balance shop would ever tell me till I asked them to check with the tire off

Sorry for the late response but I replaced the bad tire and got it rebalanced 2 days ago and the rim was bent.
So problem solved. The car handles and steers great now.

Unhappy front end vibration

Just bought a 2003 neon with front end vibration big time. Changed front tires which were uneven, balanced and aligned. A little bit better. Replaced a motor mount with issues, and a slightly bent rim. All made it better but problems remains, when you are between 60-70 it vibrates a lot. After 70 it levels out. What is that???Can't afford to fix 5 more things that aren't the problem.I've heard cv joints, cv boots, what are these and how expensive? Did anyone fix the total problem by doing this?? Help?

cv joint is the drive shaft for the f & l wheels, the boots cover the universal joint where there is 2 on each cv joint, some times a bet cv shaft on the outer edge will cause it at speed especially if the wheel was bent really bad. You can always jack up the front and watch at the end of the cv with the wheel off but at least 2 lugs on to keep the disc roter true. Kinda doubt its bent they can take a beating. going to assume its the tire or tires with flat spots, broken internal cords of the tire. 2 new tires almost always eliminate the probs.

cv joints are bad when you hear clicking under power turning right an left, cv boots that have cracks in the rubber is when you replace them. Do you hear any clicking yet?

Unless the tires are counter balanced with too many wheel weights added when they can simply remount the tire and use less weights.
