RE: 03 gauges in a 01
Okay here is what I have learned so far.
1> the console comes apart very easily.
2> do not try to remove the needles for the gauges as they will break.
Here is my "HOW TO" for the disassebmly of the new console to insert the old odometer... u know to keep it legal.
Step one.. looking at the front of the gauge cluster remove all the screws holding the cluster together.

Remove the clear plastic cover...

Step two.. remove the screws holding the cardboard to the back of the console.
carful not to break the front trip meter button.

Step Three.. gently apply pressure to the 4 pin posts that are sticking out for all the gauges while holding the console by the white plastic only. Work your way back and forth between the console gauge posts from left to right or right to left until the front seperates from the back.

Step Four.. remove the two screws holding the odometer to the front of the console.

Step Five... install old odometer... This is the plan for tomorrow night. Where i will pick this up and let you
know if the mileage reading is correct.

Okay, I haven't figured out the problem just yet but either the new cluster has a problem or its the swap of the odometer. I will have to tear it apart tonight and take a look. Basically the odometer is just blinking at me... with two f's and my running lights are not on along with the background display light on the console is very dim. Hopefully putting the 04 odometer back in will fix the issues.
