-I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure mine goes out as soon as the key is switched to off...

-I checked the other day, just forgot to post. In my Neon, the clock shuts off as soon as the key is switched to off. Now in my '10 Sebring, the radio and windows work for about 30 seconds after removing the key as long as you don't open the doors.

Matt

thanks guys
this is related to another post

but mine is not going off, when you pull the key, open/close the door, or when returning to the car after an hour

think its related to worn cylinder lock

If it's JUST the clock staying on and it's a factory radio, it's probably the radio. If I had a nickel for every one that did that back when that type of radio was used. There were even ones that would randomly come on and drag the battery down. The Oval faced ones were the worst offenders.

Not oval, beveled corners sorry.

really, wow, thats great info.

yes its the clock staying on and also saying "CD", but when you turn the volume nothing? likes its dead, but somehow it is part on, if that makes any sense, yes it's a, factory radio. code is I think RBK, oval (bevel corners)

I guess to proove it, I can put the IOD fuse back in, and remove the radio and see what happens? Also I could try one from the breakers to proove it.

I can't seem to isolate just the radio though with the fuses

I also had a few "funnies" with it not being able to turn it on/off

It's not like a more loaded car where the radio can be "woke up" by something else. Fuse 3 is ignition power and fuse 4 is battery feed.

I would get an aftermarket instead of trying to match it.

do you know if also by pulling the IOD fuse the boot wont open?

The inside button no longer works, and when I put (either) key into the boot to turn it, it won't turn manually.

I've only just got better today (back problems) so hoping I can try a few things, the keys did work manually, before winter and even with major icing

I just thought with the weather where having, the lock had frozen, but now I'm not sure.

I hate winter, difficult to work on cars unless you have a garage.

if your talking about the engine bay,

fuse 3 shows as 40A headlamp,
fuse 4 shows as 40A IGN RUN

not wanting to pull fuse 3 if that does the headlamps ?
and when you say battery feed, what exactly does that mean , i.e. can I drive the car safely without that fuse till I get this sorted out
