05 neon sxt with 164,000 oil light came on when stopped at a red light but went off when took off, hasnt come back on since, any ideas? it has plenty of oil, the check engine light has been on for a while but itll go out for a day or two, then itll come back on, leaking transmission fluid from the shift control pack (soleniod pack for the transmission) i know why cause the gaskets need to be replaced but will that cause the check engine light to come on? and on top of that, when turning left or right theres a loud deep rattling noise, any ideas what that could be? axle, ball joints?

 

Probably a bad oil pressure sensor.

 

I don't think a solenoid leak would cause the CEL to come on. Have you checked for codes?
The noise when turning could be a bad CV joint. Check the CV boots for cracks/splits. If any are torn the joint is probably bad. The oil pressure sensor is a pretty easy fix. Just do a search in this forum and you'll find plenty of info.
