Default Adding a Fuel Filter?

After seeing I as getting about 17mpg I looked into changing the not so there fuel filter. When I asked the parts store guy he said it was an unserviceable part, after further research I found this to be true. So the title pretty much says it all has any one done this if so what were the results?

Been awhile since I've visited this topic, but IIRC, the filter is in the FPR. So yeah, the filter itself cannot be changed alone, but the FPR is roughly a $45-$60 part and takes about 20 minutes to change (just make sure you relieve all of the fuel pressure first!!!).
