I have heard rumors the the SX2.0/Neon's Future is short. I was hearing 2006 or 2007 will be the last year, but I would like a clue about this. For reference, I own an '05 SX2.0 Sport.

 

05 is the last year for the neon in the US.

 

And I'm pretty sure it's the same for the rest...

2005 is the last year, the dealer told me that sept. 18th 2005 was the last production day of the neons/sx's

 

The neon is gone. The new caliber should be ariving in Jan. and will actually be considered a 07'.

 

The calibur wont be around until late spring/early summer. May or June most likely. You're looking at three power plants in the US... the 2.0L Magnum, 2.4L and 2.4LT HO. It's basically the same engine platform the the PT Cruiser had when it debuted. If you're a lucky European guy... the overwhelmingly powerful(sarcasm noted) 1.8L and 2.0L VW Trubo Diesel are among the engines. Talk of an All Wheel Drive R/T are going on as well. The Calibur will be a PT Cruiser sized (maybe a touch bigger) "sport tourer" whatever the hell that is. I'm not looking forward to the arrival personally, I doubt like hell they'll be a big seller. After all... they resemble the already established Ponitac Vibe and Scion Xa with none of the goodies that can be purchased afterward like the Vibe and especially the Scion. DiamlerChrysler hasn't told us much other than that... thats what I've heard and thats whats going on with the ill fated Neon.
