Default 00 neon binding and popping when turning

I apologize if this is discussed in another thread i couldn't seem to find on on the neon. I bought a 00 neon 2 days ago high miles 204k but its in great shape. However when i am making a slow right turn or Turing right from a stop my wheel feels like it binds then it get a pop from front left side after the pop the wheel turns fine. I can also duplicate the pop when sitting still Turing the wheels all the way left and all the way right it does not always do it while sitting. and almost always does it while moving. Also like i said it is ONLY while taking a right turn. Its going to go into the shop in a few days but i need to use it. So im just trying to get an idea if its something that unsafe to drive. I appreciate any help.

Probably a CV joint. Take a look underneath and see if the boot is ripped or broken open. If so, I would not drive on it too much if it's bad enough to cause biniding and popping. I've seen those fail quite spectacularly.

Huh i never thought of that I always thought cvs made like a clicking sound thanks ill check the boot. Can a bad wheel bearing or balljoint cause binding and popping? I know it has a wheel bearing goign i have it schedualed for that fix already.

Yes of course. It could be any of those things. If you know you have a bearing going bad, then that could be it as well. If a CV joint gets bad enough it can pop and bind.

Hey i got this figured out if anyone is wondering it was a strut issue. Mechanic said the mount was somehow causing the bind and pop. All i know is its gone now and that's what matters.

Glad you got it figured out and thanks for posting back the solution. Front end noises are hard to diagnose in person, worse over the internet.
