Default r/t to sxt tranny

I have an 02 R/T and im starting to have transmission problems.. Its cheaper and easier to find the sxt tranny. I know the gears are different.. I know in an r/t it drops about 1kRPM per shift.. would the sxt tranny actually make my car slower? If so how much?

bump.. Any advice?
I figure since the R/T Has more power the longer shifts might actually help?
I plan on doing mild mods.
Intake
Header back exhaust
Comp cam.
Hopeing for 170 HP.. just a nice daily driver that can scoot when I need too.

Maybe a 40-50 shot down the road.

It might make it feel a little slower, but it's not going to literally make the car slower, unless you reduce engine HP and TQ too.
